this is a very pretty lake at the postgraduate Naval College in Monterey. We, ummm, kind of forgot that you're not supposed to take pictures of US military installations, even college campuses. So, this photo earned me (and Alison and Jared) 20 minutes of detention by local and military police and a lesson about racial profiling, not to mention the fact that we are 'at war'...... from a local Monterey cop. The actual military police were much more chilled out, checked this photo, and said it was totally fine to keep it (hence I am blogging it).Great, so now our names are in some federal database as having taken pictures of military facilities... awesome, just awesome.

you think it's a harmless picture of a lake??? look at those ducks! they're like the size of ants! the military is breeding mini-ducks!
